Bachelor programme: a first foundation training to learn the tools, methods and issues of the discipline
It lasts three years and leads to the Diplôme National d’Art / DNA.
The first preparatory year consists of fundamental courses for all students, without specialisation. During this year, a first course in graphic design is given.
Once the graphic and digital design speciality is chosen, from the second year onwards, students acquire skills in typography, publishing (press and books), editorial design, photography, video and motion design, interface design (mobile applications, website), introduction to code (web languages and processing), service design, digital prototyping (arduino and interactive devices). This training is accompanied by an annual programme of conferences and meetings dedicated to the culture of graphic and digital design, as well as workshops organised with our partners and invited designers. The curriculum at Esad also allows students to participate in certain courses in other options (object design, culinary design, etc.)

The master programme: a second training of individual specialisation to question the contemporary issues of the discipline and open up its field of practice
It lasts 2 years and leads to the Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique / DNSEP,
Attentive to the development of each student’s unique plastic writing in the perspective of her/his personal professional project, the master’s programme addresses the challenges of graphic design in the face of contemporary digital media (web-to-print, interface design, information design, new editorial forms… ). Practices and experimentation, and the understanding of project contexts are central to the training. The Master’s programme offers an awareness of academic research and interdisciplinary work - transversality within the school and with other schools - this cycle offers, in particular, in partnership with the Mines Télécom Institute, a research programme in data visualisation and a theoretical seminar entitled Forms, Technologies, Society. An Arc entitled “Forms of Writing” explores with an interdisciplinary look at the links between drawing, writing and memory - how to represent, leave a trace, write, draw, report, record, etc. The course also offers to collaborate on academic design projects carried out by the IDIS Chair IDIS Chair with the object design students.
Each student also produces a dissertation and a personal plastic project which give him/her the opportunity to develop a singular authorial style by dealing with the subject of his/her choice over a period of 2 semesters. This is an opportunity to reinforce their mastery of project management in context, by studying a field, an environment. In parallel, several courses and workshops complete the training: editorial design, motion design, socio-philosophy, dissertation follow-up by the Esad team of theorists accompanied by a graphic design theorist, diploma project follow-up by the teaching team. As with the 1st cycle, this training is accompanied by an annual programme of conferences and meetings dedicated to the culture of graphic and digital design, as well as workshops organised with our partners and invited designers.

Interdisciplinary post-graduate programme:
Id-DIM training — Digital Activities. Designer, Engineer, Manager
Duration : 1 year (1 academic semester + 1 internship semester)
An inter-school training course. Co-created by Esad de Reims, Institut Mines-Télécom Business School & Télécom SudParis / IMT, in partnership with Le Cube and SIANA, the course brings together designers (graphic / digital / object / space), engineers and managers in teams.
During the first semester, each team develops an object or service project, using current digital technologies. The emphasis is on co-creation, attention to the context and the recipients of the project. A series of courses support project practice, including: anthropology of uses, prototyping practice and methods, ethical and responsible project management, techno-criticism, datavisualisation, etc. Meetings with professionals in the digital field are proposed, from large companies to third-party venues. The semester ends with a public exhibition at the Cube, a digital art centre.
The second semester is devoted to an internship in a company and the writing of a thesis.
The course delivers a certificate of participation co-signed by the three founding schools.
This programme is part of the Inventivités Digitales Chair, the first teaching chair in France dedicated to digital creativity, held by Institut Mines-Télécom Business School, in partnership with Télécom SudParis and ESAD de Reims, and supported by Davidson Consulting, SIANA, Le CUBE and the Mines-Télécom Foundation.
