Aiello, Nicolas
Nicolas Aiello graduated from the École Supérieure d’Art de Grenoble (2003). His first works were defined around interventions in the public space. Since 2008, the practice of drawing as a subjective experience of transcription, linked to writing, has taken a central place in his work. It allows him to invest urban space, printed space and the latent narratives of archival documents.
His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in France (Musée des arts décoratifs in Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, galerie 22, 48 m2, …) and abroad (Kunstverein in Hamburg, Musée Albertina in Vienna, …). It also takes the form of editorial projects, in collaboration with various structures (URDLA, Lendroit Editions, & : Daviet-Thery, CNEAI, …). For several years, he has been collaborating regularly with Galerie C in Neuchâtel (Drawing Now 2017). At the ESAD in Reims, he teaches drawing and co-directs the Atelier Recherche et Création (ARC) “Formes de l’écrit”.
