Belaid, Djamel


After a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Grenoble in 1985, he joined the research and development centre of IBM France in Paris until 1989. After a 3-year stint in an engineering school of the Melun Chamber of Commerce, he joined TSP in 1992 as a lecturer. At TSP, in addition to his teaching in the computer science department and his research in the Samovar laboratory, he was coordinator of the computer science field for TSP and for the IMT-BS management school.
His research focuses on middleware and distributed systems, particularly on autonomic systems in mobile, IoT and Cloud environments. He has contributed to several French and European ANR projects with both academic and industrial partners. In addition, he has (co-)supervised several PhD and master’s students.
Since the launch of the “Challenge Projets d’Entreprendre ©” by TSP and IMT-BS in 1999, he has taken an active part in the coaching of mixed engineer-manager teams. As a result, he has successfully participated in the transposition of the Challenge to SupCom Tunis and has been involved in coaching teams for 13 years. He also participated for 10 years in the First Open Innovation programme of the Fondation Mines-Télécom by coaching mixed teams of Designers, Engineers and Managers. He has been co-coordinator of the Id-DIM post-graduate programme since its creation.
