Burte, Laurent

In 2002, Laurent Burte graduated from ESAG Penninghen, Paris, with a degree in graphic design and art direction, graduating with honours and as valedictorian. In 2003, Éditions Pyramyd published his final thesis under the title Scratch graphique. In this work, he developed a graphic system that uses symbols to transcribe the basic gestures and movements of DJs in their musical practice. Scratch graphique has become a reference book in the world of scratch music.

For more than 20 years, he has worked as an art director for several publications, including Society and So good, within the So Press group. He specialises in information design, working closely with investigative journalism. He has created numerous front pages that have been noticed by the public and awarded prizes by professional juries.
In addition, at the L+B studio, which he co-founded with Charlotte Lamoglia, he develops numerous visual identities and communication media.
Finally, since 2005, he has been teaching undergraduate courses at ESAD in Reims and, since 2025, has been responsible, alongside Christian Porri, for supervising students studying for a DNSEP Design degree, specialising in Graphic & Digital Design (postgraduate level).
